Dear Colleagues:
I am happy to report that the winner of the BMRI Paper of the Year Award is “Resting-state connectivity biomarkers define neurophysiological subtypes of depression.” Nat Med. (2017) 23(1):28-38, by Drysdale AT, Grosenick L, Downar J, Dunlop K, Mansouri F, Meng Y, Fetcho RN, Zebley B, Oathes DJ, Etkin A, Schatzberg AF, Sudheimer K, Keller J, Mayberg HS, Gunning FM, Alexopoulos GS, Fox MD, Pascual-Leone A, Voss HU, Casey BJ, Dubin MJ, Liston C.
We received 6 papers which were reviewed by three WCM faculty (one from the BMRI), and one external reviewer. The committee was impressed with all the submissions (three papers were accompanied by editorials, one had a journal cover), but felt that the Drysdale et al. paper rose above all others.
Please join me in congratulating Drs. Drysdale and Liston for this distinguished recognition. As mentioned in the original announcement, the award consists of $10,000 for research-related expenses at the discretion of the senior corresponding author of the paper.
We look forward to submissions for the 2018 competition, which will be announced in January 2019.
Keep up the good work!
Costantino
